Interesting Times

We live in interesting times, indeed. So much going on right now, I don't know where to look first!
The top story here in Germany this week was surely the 20th anniversary of the unification of Germany. If you are interested, here news.deviantart.com/article/99… is an article where I attempted to give a bit of background information of events leading up to the crumbling of the Wall in Berlin and subsequent unification of the two Germanies. I've featured some great art from around DA there, well worth a look!

Then there was the European Day of Action on 29 September. 100 000 people from around Europe marched across Brussels in protest, me among them. The atmosphere was incredible, I truly felt part of a bigger community, united in protest against the austerity measures of some of the European governments.Spain held a general strike, and other protests were held in Greece, Italy, the Irish Republic and Latvia.
I'm still searching through my photographs of the day, all 519 of them, to upload a selection on here.

And let's not forget, 10 October is World Mental Health Day which was started by the World Federation for Mental Health in 1992. It aims to promote greater awareness as well as understanding of both mental health in general and mental illness in all its forms. More information about WMHD here www.mentalhealth.org.uk/campai…
October is also pregnancy&infant loss awareness month.

On a more upbeat note, autumn seems to be here at last and over here in my little corner of the world it has been gorgeous so far. Crisp blue skies and golden leaves with just a slight chill in the air. Fantastic!

And finally, I have got myself a cute little adapter for M42 lens mount to DSLR camera body, meaning I can now use all my old M42 prime lenses with my Sony! Expect pictures soon!

If you have pictures taken with a DSLR and an M42 lens (or other DSLR- analog lenses combinations), I want to see them! See if I can put together a wee feature!
